I found 'The Swedish Teacher' online and decided to give it a go - the booking system was very easy so I did a trial consultation and had a good feeling about Sara after discussing my aims. We have focused on speaking, fluency and vocab by reading articles, discussing them and making written summaries. The Swedish Teacher has been a fantastic resource for learning Swedish. My teacher, Lotta, is super personable and great at explaining concepts. The one-on-one format over the computer works very well. Scheduling has been easy, and my teacher is consistently on-time.

Prior to taking lessons with The Swedish Teacher, I tried Duolingo for a year, with minimal success. It's amazing how much more effective it is to learn with an experienced teacher than an app.

My 2 children were taught by Erica Tamm at The Swedish Teacher until they both left home at 18 to go to University in Sweden and study in Swedish. Erica was their primary and consistent teacher for many years. She was always patient and found ever creative ways to bring Swedish to life to both of them. Her lessons are conversational, engaging, fun, and tailored to what I need to work on or what will benefit my Swedish the most. Nothing is ever repetitive. She's patient, takes the time to explain things clearly, and adapts the material to match my goals. Because of her I already feel comfortable having complex conversations in Swedish with her (and other Swedes), which felt impossible not long ago.

Learning Swedish can be a grind so you need a teacher that has the passion to make it interesting - Sara has it in spades. Perfect for anyone that wants to learn both the language and how to navigate the nuances of life in Sweden. (There are loads of nuances, it's a mad place)
