I am a student at this school and I believe that it is a decently good school for education. However, joining the older grades can make it hard to get into friend groups, at least in my experience, because everyone is already so tight together. Some teachers also pick favorites, and you can meet a lot of mean and terrible students here (although most are nice, at least in my experience)

I do recommend maybe just trying this school, but please do it at your own caution!

would like to start by saying that the teachers at Stockholm International School are truly exceptional. Their dedication to education and nurturing students' growth is commendable, and they have had a profoundly positive impact on my/our academic journey.

The school's educational system is, for the most part, well-organized and maintains high standards.

I would say that at least 50% of the students reflect a respectful and inclusive environment, which contributes to a positive learning experience. Some students display behavior that does not ensure a welcoming atmosphere for all students. This goes not only to the upper school but as well as middle school. As much as I would like to see it improve in the next years, I’m doubting there is too much that the schools can do, regarding students behavior and their personalities.

Furthermore, I believe it is essential to prioritize students' mental health and well-being. The high-pressure academic environment, especially concerning the IB exams, can take a toll on students' mental health. Encouraging a healthy balance between academic rigor and self-care would greatly benefit everyone in the school community. Grade 11 is for sure rocky however there is no self care time in grade 12, which is exhausting but also most important year so I kind of get it.

Despite these areas for improvement, I am grateful for the education I/we have received at Stockholm International School. The dedication of the teachers and the commitment to excellence are evident. I hope that the school will continue to evolve and address these concerns to create an even better learning environment for future students.

As an adult point of view: education wise it’s amazing to have your child there. It’s a great school, only if the child grows up in a loving home where manners are learned/implied, as well as acceptable social norms. There are handful of bullies and people that would love to give lots of negativity from their heart. Do keep contact with school and other parents!

Another thing that SIS could improve on is yet again the communication with students. Do send important emails to also upper school students. It’s important to know it all and not find out from parents, if so.

In conclusion, Stockholm International School has provided a solid foundation for my/our education. It is a place of excellence, with fantastic teachers and a supportive majority of students. I trust that with ongoing efforts, the school can foster an even more inclusive, supportive, and mentally healthy environment for all its students.

I, as well as many others have noticed how teachers are quitting/leaving. It’s hard to keep track who is who in each building due to the new nice faculty. Much love to the school for the amazing teachers such as Ms anneli, Ms Kim, Mr AI and so many more I could mention? or atleast those teachers who have been there more than 2 years?

Ps: food is just fine, nothing special, not bad either. I find students are exaggerating on this topic. Also lunch staff is extremely nice! Big thanks to Ken and wandy

As a student at the school i feel that it is a great environment to learn have fun and collaborate with teachers and students alike. The teachers there do their best work and try as hard as possible to make every single student feel safe and happy in the campus. The school rules aren't as strict as they seem, the reason the computers are managed by the school is because the school has to make sure that students are not playing games during class, or looking up anything inappropriate.
The only bad thing about this school is the school lunch, they normally serve foods that arent the best quality. I'm not a food critic but know well enough that the food is sometimes good or terrible at other times.
So a packed lunch from home is recommended; the salad bar is decent though, a variety of salad= a healthy lunch.
The Stockholm International School is a decent school.

Hello,

This school may seem good from the fees or from the outside, but inside a disaster. The school is really poor and some teachers have wrong knowledge which often leads the students to go the wrong way! This school is not acceptable for us!

Like all other expensive schools i have gone to in my life..
The only difference from this to a poor school is not the education, the school program is always the same book.
No instead your kids get to hang with rich kids and not poor.

Stockholm International School was founded in 1951, by Mrs. Gisela Dietze. Mrs. Dietze came to Stockholm from Dresden, Germany, shortly after the end of World War II, and began a private kindergarten among families associated with the British Embassy. This turned out to be quite popular, and eventually the British Council helped Mrs. Dietze to found the Anglo- American School, as it was then called.

The first school was located at Djurgårdsbrunns Värdshus, and it had 32 students. By the year's end it had 58 students, representing fifteen nations. The school grew steadily over time, and by 1967 it moved to its present location in the center of town, on Johannesgatan. Its student population then was 288.

Throughout this period, Mrs. Dietze remained as the Principal, and Stockholm International School had positioned itself as the preeminent English-speaking school in the Stockholm region. A true visionary, Mrs. Dietze was among the founding members of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS), and even from these early years, Stockholm International School has maintained an active role among international schools. The SIS has been accredited by ECIS since 1987, and is also accredited by the Middle States Association (since 1988), and the European League for Middle Level Education (since 1989). In addition, SIS has been host to a number of events, including the ELMLE Conference in 1995 and 2002, the Nordic Network Conferences 2001, 2008, 2012 and 2016, and the ISTA Drama Festival 2002.

Change and growth continue. In recent years the SIS has expanded to include grades 10, 11, and 12. Moreover, the school adopted the MYP and IB Diploma programs, and the International Primary Curriculum for Grades Reception through five.

A very small private international school offering the IB, high graduate quote but By students often described as Stasi school due to the limited freedom of most students and the high control creating a very isolated experience. If you are thinking about sending your childrens here you can be sure the only culture they learn about is American.
