Hi! I was a student in the year 2022/2023 for the International Film Production program. Coming to this school was my first real experience abroad but all the teachers and the classmates made it feel like home from the start. I don't know why people had a bad experience from the school but I can tell you that I would have done everything again. It's the perfect school that leads you through every filmmaking aspect, such as scriptwriting or light equipments or camera department and how to direct actors. The teachers, who treats you like family, are super professional and with a lot of independent works in the Film Industry in Sweden and International; they are there in every moments of every project ready to help you from the simple things to the most difficult ones.
In one year you can try and work on every roles on set and learn from everything until you find the ones you prefer.
I came there without any practical skills of jobs on set and it was my first time living abroad and I can really tell you how much the people of the school made me feel safe and how much I enjoyed the lessons.
I have never learn so much in just one year and I couldn't be happier. It was hardworking but it made me realize how the industry work and how deal with every situations on different sets.
Stockholms Filmskola start as a school of beginners and lead you to an amazing knowledge of every aspect of the industry and the equipment furnished is super good!

I am reading in the last few days some bad reviews about the school. Unfortunately, in last year's international group there were 2 people who decided , due to lack of dedication, not to participate in all the school's projects, often leaving groups with less people, people never willing to carry bags with equipment, people abandoning the set due to "headaches," they then demanded the school's equipment , which the school kindly lent them, and broke it, claiming not to pay a small percentage on damages as per the contract signed by ourselves. Now their plan is to try to sling mud at the school.
I will tell you what has been my own experience.
I joined the school two years ago and had 2 incredible months, I never learned so much , practical experience, when I came home at night my brain was up in smoke because of how much I had learned. Afterwards I had a serious family problem that forced me to go back home to Italy, the following summer I asked to attend the school again and Anders, the boss who is attacked by these 2 students , agreed to let me take the course again without having to pay an extra euro . All the teachers are fantastic, they teach out of passion, in the school you create an incredible family feeling, I am so sad that it is over.
I recommend to ANYONE to do this school, especially if you are a beginner, you will learn what it means to do this job.

I have been attending Stockholm Filmskola’s acting program and my experience of the school has been wonderful. I started this program feeling really nervous and unsure of how it was going to be, but everyone from the students to the staff welcomed me warmly right away. What I was most pleased with was the complete lack of judgement of everyone, there was a deep understanding of whichever your background was regarding film and acting. I was the youngest, started at 17 with not much experience, but there were other people who were much older than me with different levels of experience, and everybody was open and never arrogant for knowing more. Instead there was an enthusiasm and a hunger to learn from everybody, and the more experienced ones helped with care and love the new learners . The only thing evaluations were based on was the level of commitment we put in the present moment when we were at the school, the effort, the discipline and the passion we put into the projects. I never felt alone in this,I have been so supported and pushed to do my best by the staff, who never failed in giving me realistic feedback and motivating me to do better while still acknowledging my improvements and believing in me. Here I also met the most talented people but that were also humble and interested in you both as an artist and human being. Everyone here wants to create on a daily basis, suggesting projects also for our free time. I have done photo shoots, dance sessions and movies outside of school with the friends I met here and I got so enriched by all of it! The location is great, the place is large and luminous with professional equipment, everyday I was excited to get to school and create art, being excited to wake up in the morning to spend time doing cool things with people you love and improving your craft, being sad in the afternoon because the day is over and all you wanna do is stay and keep acting. There is also a very healthy work/life balance philosophy at the school, which allowed me to have such a serene experience of it all, my mental health has never been this good while I have also grown the most as an artist, demonstrating that it is not by killing yourself with work that you improve, but to work efficiently. I will eternally be grateful for this school for making me discover who I am as an artist and as a human being, these people believed in this little 17 year old from Italy and I know that this community will always be here for me if I ever need anything. This place is a source of energy, art, love, passion for film and growth, and I would recommend it to anyone who loves art and wants to work in film, it prepares you to the real world in an exceptional way.

I totally agree with my ex-classmate Alessandro. I spent a year in the international class and the amount of knowledge and practical skills I have received is insane. The teachers are super helpful, open, and sincere. The community is indeed family-like, I made the best friends in that school. ALMOST the whole international class was not only a super close and fun friend group but also great colleagues on set filled with creative ideas and enthusiasm.
To enjoy the education you have to be an active and passionate participant.
I am grateful to the school for everything that I know now, and for all the lifelong connections that I have made.
I miss it a lot. Stockholm filmskola was super welcoming and it felt like home that is filled with film.
Also, there is more than enough equipment, there is a variety and a good amount.
I ❤️ Stockholm Filmskola and I recommend it to everyone.

it’s a wonderful school. you will never find teachers that are more engaged in your education and your future in the film industry. i’m currently in the second year of the film production program and i have nothing but praise. the school is highly competitive (as it should be, reflecting the industry) and i suppose the people writing negative reviews are those who didn’t understand that your performance and dedication will reflect the outcome of your education. put in the work and you will be rewarded. if you’re not interested in teamwork and the collective pursuit of great art, film making might not be for you.
like i said, i have nothing but praise for the school.

The International Classes are a complete scam. I fell for Hollywood Reporter article and paid for the course, it is a waste.
the head of the institution takes no responsibility for the students and their needs, the Internationals take a second place concerning the equipment (and will only get the broken ones/bad quality/will pay extra for the damages.
The practical aspect of the exercises that the school advocates is biased, the exercises will be sloppy and multiplied for no reason and the Head Master will spit on it to the other classes. The equipment is loaned outside the school only in very uncertain cases.

I happily withdrew from the international “acting program” please avoid this place/school in every way at all cost!!
I went in believing , trusting and even expecting so much positive things from this school and it’s leadership because of the “great values” they presented on their website and social media platform.
after 1 month and a half of being a student in their international “acting program”, so much was brought to the light. They never stuck to their values that they stated they would. And I did not gain anything they stated on their website that I would through their “acting program”. I felt like a complete prop ,and a-lot of times as if they saw me as their puppet/robot on their sets. I felt so discriminated and violated in so many ways!!! Please AVOID THIS PLACE!!!
There was absolutely no structure , NO ORDER at all in every way, shape or form from that school/leadership. Which is a BRIGHT RED FLAG!!
Stockholms filmskola is indeed a hoax and complete scam indeed as the previous reviews mentioned. Notice the reviews of the ones speaking up in truth about the “negativity” that is coming from this school!!!
They scam and wheel people in by their false advertisements and claims to be on “Hollywood reporter” and their “access” and “power” their one leader has to and in “Hollywood and with the film industry”, which they never brought any of these so on “connections” to teach us!! Which was another red flag!!
Most importantly though!! It was not indeed a safe place/environment as they always attempted to “brain wash” their students to believe it was, so that you could trust them.
there was never trust being built amongst the facility and staff and leadership towards the student body. They just always demanded trust from us, which is not how trust is built!!! Which was another bright red flag!! it 100% felt like a “cult” in so many ways in my opinion!!! I would ADVISE ANYONE CONSIDERING THIS SCHOOL!!! TO FIND ANOTHER SCHOOL!!! BE SAFE, TRUST WISE COUNSEL (this is coming from someone who left this school because she trusted her gut, gained nothing from the school and has not regretted leaving what so ever!!) please take it from me, JUST AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL CLOST!! You will not gain from this place/film school/or their leaders.
I studied and have attended a film school back in Texas before coming to “Stockholms filmskola” and I gain so much from that the film school in TEXAS !! This is another reason why I was able to spot red flags at “Stockholms filmskola”, because my previous studies in the states. and I will say honestly and bluntly “Stockholms Filmskola” is not a film school nor are they at all up to date with how “Hollywood” or how the “industry” is working at this very present moment and time!! Go to a real film school!!
To many sets where I was on at “Stockholms filmskola” didn’t even use “common sense” or “protective care” and “caution” for their actors!!! this was a bright red flag!! at any point someone could’ve gotten hurt on their sets especially because majority of the time instructors are never on these sets!!!! The point of having instructors is for them to TEACH US ALONG THE WAY!!!
And lastly the curriculum/techniques were not at all within healthy boundaries or even within the context of helping actors in crafting their craft what so ever.
Also everything that they produce is dark, eerie, sexual or within the basis of bullying, and slavery. Another bright red flag!!!!!
And another odd red flag was they stay within a certain genre of horror films only!!! go to a film school that will grow you in many AREAS/GENRES!!
Please !!! find an actual wholesome film-school that is safe, trustworthy, reliable from real “Hollywood and industry” resources!!
Find a film school that has healthy boundaries for you as an actor and cares for your mental health and overall protection physically as well on and off sets.
Lastly ,they do not give refunds or even partial refunds so please!!!
SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!
